MEET NIGERIA’S GOV WHOSE FATHER MARRIED 30 WIVES, HAS 108 CHILDREN

A governor of the southeastern geopolitical region of Nigeria, His Excellency, Francis Nwifuru, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, has 29 stepmothers! That’s because his father married 30 wives, and fathered 108 children!

Governor Nwifuru has revealed the reasons behind his father, Ezekiel Nwifuru, marrying over 30 wives and fathering 108 children. The governor shared this during the coronation of his father as the traditional ruler of the newly created Oferekpe Agbaja Autonomous Community, according to The Sun Newspaper.

Ezekiel Nwifuru initially had over 30 wives, but the number later reduced to 19 after some were removed from the family for not bearing children. Among the remaining 19 wives, who collectively bore the 108 children, the newly crowned traditional ruler now lives with 17.

Oferekpe Agbaja, which consists of 17 villages, was established this year following a law passed by the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.

Governor Nwifuru explained that his 84-year-old father’s success as a renowned farmer brought him unexpected wealth but also subjected him to envy, intimidation, and humiliation from members of the Agbaja community. This adversity, he said, motivated his father to marry multiple wives as both companions and partners in achieving his ambitions.

“My father’s decision to marry many wives was influenced by the intimidation and humiliation he endured from villagers in his quest for greatness,” the governor stated, emphasizing his father’s resilience and hard work in overcoming challenges.
