FLEEING AFGHANS FALL TO DEATH FROM AIRFORCE PLANE

In an attempt to flee the Taliban rule, no fewer than three Afghanistan stowaways appeared to have fallen to a horrific death from a United States military aircraft evacuating its personnel and citizens from Kabul.

Viral footages on social media show a number of people jumping aboard the outside of a US Air Force plane on the runway in the Afghan capital.

However, UK Metro reports that graphic images have surfaced, suggesting some of the stowaways have fallen from the airborne plane to the ground.

A video also seems to show two people falling from the aircraft soon after take-off.

There is also a graphic image apparently depicting the remains of one of the bodies on the ground, the British news outlet added.

The plane was seen trying to take off from a runway flooded with locals desperately trying to flee the Taliban amid carnage in the capital Kabul.

Following Taliban forces taking over the country, several Afghan nationals are now feared trapped as the realities of a new regime set in.

US forces are currently working to secure the airport in Kabul. Witnesses say at least three civilians died on Monday in the chaos.

The head of US Central Command has met face-to-face with senior Taliban leaders to ask the militia not to interfere with the US evacuations out of Kabul airport, a US defence official told the Associated Press.

At the Sunday meeting in Doha, Qatar, General Frank McKenzie reached an agreement with the Taliban to establish a "deconfliction mechanism" - meaning the Taliban would not interfere with the evacuations, the AP reported.

The Western-backed former Afghan leader, Ashraf Ghani, departed his country and has been reported to have fled the country with so much money that it couldn’t all fit on his helicopter, and he was forced to leave some cash at the airport, the Russian Embassy in Kabul has said.

Speaking to RIA Novosti, its spokesman Nikita Ishchenko dubbed Ghani’s escape an “eloquent characterization” of the fall of the “regime.”

“Four cars were stuffed with money. [They] tried to fit all the money on the helicopter, but not all of it fit. Some of the money was left lying on the tarmac,” he explained, without elaborating how he obtained the information.
